Joy of Church

Have you ever wondered what the buzz is about attending Church?  What is the big deal anyway?  Why should I give up my free time on Sunday to attend a church? Does that sound familiar?  Read the statements from our congregation on what the church means to them!
                      -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The church is my life but it wasn’t always that way.  Years past I had this idea that I could praise and worship God without attending church so that is what I did. I spent 20 years trying to do it my way. Even though I spent my entire childhood attending church I thought I could do a better job worshiping the Lord on my own, wow was I wrong, I am so thankful to be back in the church.  Sure you can worship God by yourself and on your own without the church, and you do not even need to church to become saved but as I found out, you sure do miss a lot.  In the church you have the fellowship and help from the rest of the congregation. There is something so special worshiping the Lord together with other people. It is a whole new world, plus you are able to learn more and more about the Lord through the Pastor’s preaching.  Even Jesus tells us in the Bible that “where 2 or more of you gather in my name I will be in the midst of them”, now that is a deal. For me the Church is a blessing that keeps on blessing. I highly recommend attending a good Bible preached church where they worship God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  Get involved with your church, make a commitment to be there every time the doors open.  Try it and see if your life doesn’t improve more than you could have ever dreamed.

To begin with, in my opinion, church is not for the ungodly.  But if you are saved, a Christian, love the Lord, and want to give him your love, Church is a great place to do it.  It is a chance to show the congregation, and the people who watch your life, and God  that you put church attendance high on your to-do list.  It is an opportunity to worship The Lord with people who feel as you do. Church is a place where you learn more about God and his word.  A place where you can find friends who will pray with you about your needs.   It gives you a rest from the daily grind that tires your mind and body.  And last  but not least, it is a commandment of Jesus, to "Forsake not the assembling of yourselves together".

Do you have to be reminded to pay your bills? Do you have to be reminded to go to the doctor? As a child did your mother have to remind you to pick up your room, take a bath, do your homework?  If none of this applies to you then you are perfect. But we are human, and human nature dictates that we just can't remember everything.
This is why God tells us to assemble ourselves together. So that we can continue to learn about Him and His love for us.  He loves us unconditionally but He so longs to have a relationship with us. We can not do that unless we know who He is and what He is all about.  The Bible tells us all about it, but God designed a Pastor to be like a shepherd to lead us.  He gave us all gifts to make up His family. Come and share yours - there is no greater joy, besides salvation.
